» STEPS TO MEMBERSHIP

 

Complete the membership application and return it to ASAA along with the appropriate application fee.

 

ASAA will review your application. If your experience meets ASAA's requirements for membership your application will be approved. If your application is not approved, your entire processing fee will be immediately refunded.

 

Within 10 working days, after ASAA has approved your membership, you will receive a letter of acceptance, a Code of Ethics and a sample appraisal. The Code of Ethics must be signed and returned, along with the remainder of your membership fee.
(ASAA membership dues are tax deductible.)

 

Once your fees are paid, ASAA will send your Membership Document, an Appraiser's Handbook and a wallet-sized identification card listing your name, appraiser number and membership expiration date.

 

All new members must complete the ASAA Principles of Valuation Home Study Course within 6 months after being accepted as a member. The ASAA Advanced Principles of Valuation Home Study Course must be completed within the following 6 month period. A total of 1 year will be allowed to complete both of ASAA's training courses. Both courses combined are a total of 105 hours of Education Hour Credit.

 

In addition to both ASAA training courses, new members must complete the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice Course within a 3 month time period after completion of the above ASAA Home Study Courses.
